Amlong Computer Consultants (ACC) was created
by the husband and wife team of Robert and Tammey Amlong. They started the
company to address the lack of quality computer support for small and home
businesses. Tammey manages the administrative portion of the company. With over
9 years experience as an office manager for various small businesses Tammey
makes sure the billing, receiving and accounts are handled in an efficient
manner.
Robert is the technical guru with close to 20
years of experience building, managing, and project managing various business
and business computer systems. Robert started in the computer business in 1988
as a member of a small business. Seeing the need for a networked computer system
Robert taught himself the technology and made the system. This was the start of
his computer career.
Over the next 19 years Robert continued to build computer
systems, networks, and web sites, as well as run computer network and IT departments for
various companies. During that time Robert learned the importance of
understanding the business and fitting the computer and web solutions to the business.
Over his career he has:
- Integrated the computer systems of of two major companies
including numerous departmental systems, backup solutions, and communication
systems.
- Implement a company wide Terminal Server solutions for
remote access.
- Implemented secure e-commerce WEB server farm for hosting
client related internet sites.
- Implemented company wide document management systems.
- Managed part of the disaster recovery efforts following
the loss of the World Trade Center offices including activating DR
procedures for outside data communications and implementing the projects to
replace the lost data center.
- Implementation of new Electronic Trading systems for
Prime Banking, Prime Trade, and core electronic trading systems.
- Implementation of new company wide compliance system to
monitor orders, fills and transactions and provide n +1 data to compliance
analysts.
- Designed and built new a new server farm for a major
company, expanding both capacity and the functionality. Servers included
Data, Web, SQL, RAS, and Terminal servers. And in the process completed the
move from Novell to Win NT.
- Project manager for a successful move of all computer
resources during a move of the Compliance and Legal departments. This
included designing the server room, writing procedures and managing a staff
of 24 during the move.
- Successfully managed the Y2K project for the multiple
departments I supported.
- Project Director for the selection and implementation of
a formal business system. Supervised a multi-departmental team in the
formation and implementation of formal business policies and procedures as
well as the selection and implementation of a MRP II computer system.
- Created and implemented Web sites supporting both large
and small businesses.
